I finally watched the movie Jackie starring Natalie Portman last night. I was struck by the poise and signature look portrayed on the screen so I did some digging to find out more about Jacqueline Kennedy's beauty routine. Below are some vegan options for her holy grail products.
Jackie was known for her good complexion. To achieve this, she turned to one man, Hungarian dermatologist Erno Lazlo, for facials and products. There's something nice about the idea of sticking with a skincare routine instead of constantly searching for some new magical product that may not exist. Jackie's routine consisted of double cleansing and applying a luxurious face cream daily. FYI Erno Lazlo's products are cruelty-free but not vegan, so here are some vegan options that are similar to Jackie's faves.
Jackie's look is all about strong brows, minimal makeup, and statement lip. Minimally tweezed brows filled in give a strong look, similar to Audrey Hepburn. Foundation covers sun spots and smooths out the appearance of the skin, which is already in good condition thanks to the skincare routine. Jackie liked to play with lipsticks, both to compliment her outfits and provide bright pops of color.
A signature hairstyle is probably the most recognizable part of her look, if we're not including that famous pink suit. She stuck to a very similar hairstyle for most of her life, with only a few adjustments in the length and an accessory every once and awhile. Although I think it will take a hair expert to help you find your signature style, we can also benefit from Jackie's hair maintenance techniques, such as using hair oil on the ends and sleeping on a silk pillowcase. *Our recommendation is satin, not silk.
And last but not least, a signature scent. Jackie's was Lovely Patchouli 55 by House of Krigler. It's a strong winter scent with notes of amber, patchouli, bergamot, and leather. Definitely a standout fragrance that would get you noticed.
