I've been playing around with this idea of "luxury minimalism" for awhile now. I wrote about it in my weekly newsletter awhile back and several of you said that the idea resonated with you so I thought I would share it here on the blog along with some new thoughts...
Lately I've been interested in this idea of luxury minimalism - having only those things you need but with the very best quality. Have you ever had a cupboard full of beauty products but you're still searching for something that will work better? I'm guilty of this too.
As I've worked to use up and declutter products over the last month, I discovered that I don't need a bajillion face cleansers or body creams. I just need one that works really really well. My collection now consists only of products that are vegan, cruelty-free, nontoxic, and make me feel and look my very best (with a few things I'm testing for future Velvet Report products).
At the center of my new luxury minimalistic beauty routine is the Velvet Report French Beauty Set. I read that French women use 1-2 products in their morning and nighttime routines whereas women from other countries use 8+ products. From this idea, I worked to create simple yet effective products that cleanse and moisturize your skin with as few ingredients as possible.
I use the French Beauty Set products every day. I cleanse my face morning and night with the super hydrating Micellar Water, refresh with the Rose Toner, and finish with the Daily Moisturizer. My face feels hydrated and refreshed, despite being prone to dry skin. And for the first time in my adult life, I no longer have dry flaky or bumpy skin. And it took way less (but more refined) products than I imagined! That's luxury minimalism - all the best, and nothing more.
