A few months back, I went to a Neiman Marcus trend event where we got to see a runway show with the upcoming trends in fashion and beauty. While I was there, I scribbled down a few notes of my favorite trends and trends that I thought can be easily "veganized" for summer 2017. Sorry for the delay but without further ado...
Trend #1: Trench Coats
You know that trench coats are a staple in my wardrobe year round. Always have been, always will be. Trench coats never go out of style and can easily be translated into hotter weather but switching to lighter fabrics and duster styles. They also come in handy if you're caught in an unexpected shower.
Trend #2: Wicker Bags
I was really excited to see wicker bags in the runway show. Finally, a bag that's not leather!I love the whimsical feeling that wicker bags bring to an outfit. I recently wrote a blog post about the wicker trend that you can read about here.
Trend #3: Orange Lipstick
This trend event was focused on fashion, but I couldn't help but notice all the orange lips walking down the runway. It looked surprisingly flattering on all skin tones and inspired me to try this bold new look.
Trend #4: Black and White Stripes
We all know that stripes have been a huge trend over the last year, especially in combination with the draping trend of late. But what really stood out to me in this show was the prevalence of black and white stripes, horizontal, vertical, diagonal, they were everywhere!
Trend #5: Green Military Jackets
This was probably the trend that I was least excited for. Military jackets again?! Didn't they just go out of style? But no, they were back in full-force. I guess I'm not as excited about this trend because I never found a military-style jacket that looks good on me or fits with my style. But if you do, then hey, rock it.
