Visiting Twin Peaks
Last weekend I headed to North Bend, the original location of the Twin Peaks TV show. Have you seen it? I've been binge watching it in anticipation of the new season. It's sooo good! I love shows like Twin Peaks that transport you to a different world. Thankfully, that real-life world is near to me, so I drove out there to shoot some Twin Peaks-themed photos. Enjoy!
Location 1: Salish Lodge and Spa (Twin Peaks: Great Northern Hotel)
Go to the Salish Lodge and Spa if you want to relax, enjoy nature, and eat some delicious food while overlooking the spectacular Snoqualmie Falls in Washington State. This is the location of the Great Northern Hotel in Twin Peaks where Detective Dale Cooper (played by Kyle MacLachlan) is staying during the investigation of Laura Palmer's death. They are known for having "a damn fine cup of coffee" on the show and I can attest to this IRL. I purchased these vegan donuts from Mighty O Donuts in Seattle so that I could do the donut double stack from the show.
Location 2: Twede's Cafe (Twin Peaks: Double R Diner)
Next up, the real-life Double R Diner, Twede's Cafe in North Bend, WA. This is the diner where Norma and Shelly work on the show. They are supposed to be famous for their cherry pie, but I didn't try any since it's not vegan. Here's a delicious looking Vegan Cherry Pie recipe though if you'd like to give it a try.
After visiting the diner we stopped at the nearby North Bend Outlet stores. That's where the photo with the cherry trees was taken. In the show, Audrey Horne dresses in 1940's style with tucked-in sweaters, high-waisted skirts, and black and white oxford shoes.
Location 3: ???
What Twin Peaks location should I visit next?
