I'm cheating on today's post because this post is not technically new. I posted it on the Wordpress site (which is now gone by the way) and I have no way of accessing it. So here it goes, Vegan Mini Mall in Portland, take 2!
This summer I FINALLY stopped by the Vegan Mall in Portland! I'd been wanting to go here for years but just didn't want to make the 3-hour trip one way to get here. I wouldn't recommend making a special trip just to come here because it is well, rather mini, but it's definitely worth stopping by if you're in the city. Here are the store details:
Vegan Mini Mall in Portland
The Herbivore Clothing Company
This is the most exciting of the 4 stores (at least for me). Herbivore Clothing is a store full of vegan clothes, shoes, books, and beauty products. It was so much fun to be able to shop without checking the tags! I bought a pretty lilac nail polish and some greeting cards but I definitely want to come back to shop the OMG wall of vegan shoes!
As a vegan, a 100% vegan grocery store is my dream! You can walk around and pick out anything you want without having to worry about any hidden animal ingredients. All the research has already been done for you. I didn't get a chance to try it this time, but there was a line at the front of the store for vegan soft serve ice cream that apparently is very good.
Sweetpea Baking Co.
I ran out of time and didn't have time to stop in Sweatpea Baking Co. on this trip but I have heard that they make excellent pastries so I want to visit next time!
There's even a vegan tattoo parlor at the vegan mini mall! You wouldn't think that tattoos would not be vegan but many inks are derived from animal ingredients. The shop was closed when I visited the mall but it's a good resource if you're vegan and looking for a tattoo.
