One of the highlights of my recent trip to LA was shopping at Vegan Scene in Venice, where everything in the store is vegan! They sell Matt and Nat handbags, lingerie, jewelry, Gabriel Cosmetics lipsticks, Trust Fund Beauty nail polish, and their own line of sweatshirts and tank tops with cute vegan sayings.
Another must-visit place for me was Violet Grey on Melrose in West Hollywood. I really admire this innovative beauty company that Cassandra Grey has built from the ground up. They carry some vegan products from Tata Harper, RMS Beauty, and Kjaer Weis. I had a blast hanging out in the beauty studio, picking up a Violet Grey newspaper, and buying their Violet Code approved eyelash curler from Utowa.
Two beautiful stores to shop in are Reformation and Nasty Gal on Melrose. [Unfortunately, Nasty Gal has since shut down its stores.] I loved the design of both of the stores and found some vegan pieces that were soft and stylish. I picked up a wool-free cable knit sweater at Nasty Gal and am still eyeing a Reformation top that I saw in store. Even though it can be more of a challenge to find things in a non-vegan store, I did enjoy feeling inspired by what both of these female founders have created.
I also stopped by the gem box of a store Strange Invisible Perfumes in Venice. I had tried samples of their perfume (Aquarian Rose is my favorite) so it was amazing to see where these organic botanical perfumes come from. Don't forget to stop by Le Labo next door for more vegan fragrances and to hang on their super comfy couch!
